What is Spirit and how to increase it in Path of Exile 2
Spirit is a new resource that has made its way to Path of Exile 2. It’s primarily used to summon minions, reserve auras, and trigger gems. Spirit is part of the core combat mechanic in the RPG, but the game does a very poor job of explaining it. Many in the community are very confused as to how this mechanic works, so if you too are looking to have a firmer understanding of it, here is a guide that will help you out. As mentioned, Spirit is a system used to reserve auras and summon minions in Path of Exile 2. Mana is no longer used to reserve auras in the sequel, however, you will not have access to any Spirit at the start of the narrative. You will be able to increase the resource as you progress through the campaign and get your hands on more boss drops and equip items that increase it. When you trigger a meta gem on your skill bar, your character’s Spirit will automatically be reserved. This will also include auras, but they will not activate if you do not have enough Spirit for them. So as long as you have the Spirit to spare, you can equip as many meta gems and auras as you want. However, Spirit works a bit differently when it comes to summoning revivable minions. You will first need to allocate Spirit to the skill gem by opening the skill tab. Here you will see the minion count where the DPS meter usually is, and you will notice it right next to the gem’s level. Clicking on the plus icon will summon more minions at the cost of more Spirit. You can min-max it further by leveling your minion gem as it will then reduce the Spirit reservations of your summons.
